I love this car so much. It’s loud, it’s uncomfortable, even with a cat it smells, but I grow less tired of it every month. Pretty much every good thing that has happened in the last year and a half, has been an direct result of buying this car. I’ve made many new great friends, that I wouldn’t have made if it weren’t for this little blue hatch. I’ve traveled, and I’ve seen so many places that I would not have trusted the 4Runner to get to. I’ve been able to visit family more often, along with seeing old friends.
Here’s to another 25,000. Maybe another 250,000.

The impact that cars as a whole can do in humans is astounding, and I say this without my bias as a car enthusiast.

I’m running 10psi over stock...

Just remember - AVOID MITCHELL SELIG FORD IN CONNECTICUT!
For the love of all that is holy, be vigilant if you let any dealership even look at this car.

Pffft I’m running 10x my stock boost!
It’s still zero :(

I try to avoid the dealer when at all possible.

26psi out of a baseball sized turbo through a stock cat. I’m waiting for one of them to melt.

Coming up on 60K on mine... Trying to decide if I want to extend the extended warranty or not... it’s already paid for it self with strut bearings and an ECU. I could easily see myself driving this little ball of fun for another 100K miles.

Damn. You must be putting down a fair bit more power than stock. Any issues so far?
Trying to talk a friend into tuning his FiST. He’s worried the engine will “automatically explode” or something

I bought that, but...
I guess I can get non engine parts...

Eh, only about 220/290 at the crank. Not insignificant, but could be better with a new downpipe and intercooler. Most of the big name flash tunes are reliable, and for a small fee they will optimize them for your climate/fuel. I’ve had no issues whatsover mechanically. The internals are good for 400whp, and you aren’t getting there without major upgrades. As long as he doesn’t try to go stage 3 tune without the upgrades, use shitty fuel, or lug it around, it will be fine.

Good. I miss mine before the dealer issues went down :(
I will never ever let them live down the fact that they tried to say the stock pedals were aftermarket AND they caused brake issues. -_-
But yeah, the tunes are nice and the car is so punchy afterwards. Loved the little 1.6 winding up.

My local dealer is pretty decent, but still, I try to avoid them now that I’m tuned.

Winning. Me too. From 8 to 18. Making about 380hp at wheels. N54 life.

How has your gas mileage been? I just crossed over 1000 and am at 21.9 MPG’s, about 250 miles on a full tank. I was hoping for a bit more, but it might have more to do with my driving and short commutes. Granted the highest I saw on the Mustang was 17, and that was really high!
It’s funny though, I’ve already taken this car to places I never wanted to take the Mustang. It’s so nice.
Oh and I forgot to reply yesterday. You have me looking at that green filter now. I could use more turbo noise.

Gas mileage is 26-27, with a lot of city thrown in, driving it aggressively. Without a tune, I was around 29 with the same commute, but I honestly believe that is down to driving harder. Last weekend I was doing a lot of short commutes, and I was probably getting high teens.
The Green Filter is totally worth it, especially if you need a filter like I did. The turbo is quite a bit louder with it. That said, with my straight pipe, the turbo can be heard at idle.

Well I guess I need to work on getting a few more MPG’s! Especially right now. I’m probably going to end up buying that filter sometime soon, it sounds exactly what I want. More noise but nothing obnoxious.

Yeah, it’s not obnoxious. I would definitely look into a resonator delete as well. If you know the right shop, it’s cheaper than a filter. Your mileage should improve a little bit now that you are past 1000 miles, but if you are looking to save fuel, don’t get into boost. Also, I was getting that mileage using 93.
